The Scientific and Technical Research Center for Arid Regions (CRSTRA) in Biskra hosted on April 22, 2025, a distinguished scientific event under the theme “Agriculture and Health,” organized by the Algerian Academy of Science and Technology in collaboration with the center, reinforcing the role of scientific research in supporting agriculture and health. The opening was presided over by the Academy’s President, Professor Mohamed Hicham Kara, and included an address by the center’s Director, Professor Kachbar Mohamed Seifallah, who highlighted the center’s efforts in linking scientific research to field reality. The event was attended by several researchers and academics, including the President of Biskra University, Professor Mahmoud Debbache. The event featured two scientific lectures—one by Professor Noureddine Soltani on environmental pesticides, and another by Professor Zoubir Harath entitled “Biskra’s Date Nail after a Century.” The event concluded with tributes honoring professors and researchers for their scientific contributions.
